Lower Level Classroom News

Cowles students from the first, second, and third grades are finishing up an eventful month of April. Aside from Iowa assessments and a book fair, students had a visit from the Y-Camp who came to lead the students in different activities including bird watching, nature hikes, and how to erect a teepee.   Second, a group of students visited the Drake Relays to participate in the Victory Run for the Kidstriders running program.  Additionally in April, Cowles celebrated the environment.  On this day, not only did Cowles host an array of special guests including an apiarist, and an ornithologist, but also sent a group of students to do water sample research at local streams.  To wrap up the month, students will participate in One Day Without Shoe which is a program to help raise awareness for children’s health and education.
