American Montessori Conference

Ten teachers along with their principal, Gregory Grylls, of Cowles Montessori were able to travel to Dallas for the American Montessori Society conference at the end of March.   The four day conference energized and sparked the spirit of the attendees.  Among the highlights were three marvelous keynote speakers who spoke of “Unity in Diversity”.  The teachers were treated to a film showing of the 2012 award-winning documentary by Benjamin Wagner: ”Mister Rogers & Me”.  This inspirational film showed the many lives that Fred Rogers touched. His reflection that “deep and simple is far more essential than shallow and complex”, led Benjamin Wagner  to visit those whose lives were changed by the gestures of kindness, expressions of support and peaceful mannerisms of Fred Rogers.

We also attended six workshops that provided us with information to help strengthen our goals and objectives for our classrooms.
