Art Installations
This spring has been very busy. During the month of April we were able to complete the family mural, hang the Spring art show and paint rocks during Environmental day. That was in addition to our routine busy that happens in the art room all year long.
Art Installations
Our family is complete, they placed the frame on it today. Thank you for taking the time to find those hard to find pictures and sending them in. The Des Moines Public Schools Art Installation crew was incredibly helpful in completing this project. They also hung the 4-6th grade Chihuly like water bottle sculpture. We haven’t named this one yet but it is beautiful hanging in the west stairway. Thank you to all of you that donated water bottles for that project.
The Spring Art Show will be hanging in the lower hallway until sometime next week. In addition to the artwork this year each student also added an Artist Statement Card. I enjoy reading their thoughts on their own work. The students put a lot of thought into the choice of work in the show. Please enjoy the work as well and celebrate our students creativity, ability to overcome obstacles and the knowledge they will be able to carry on with them. I will take down the show next week and begin sending home any art still left at school the week of May 19-23.
