Cowles Pawction
On October 18th Cowles Montessori Parent Group sponsored the annual “Pawction” to raise money for Montessori materials and training at Cowles Montessori. This event included a silent auction, a live auction and a potluck. To prepare for this fundraiser parents and staff donated, asked for donations, or created handmade items to donate. The art students made 15 items for auction including a chess set, four paneled painting, and canvas photography artwork. The parents and staff were able to donate over 2,000 items. The most delicious and fun desserts were made to sell at the bake sale. With approximately 400 baskets of items and gift certificates there was definitely something for everyone. Personal experiences with teachers were auctioned off in a live auction. Parents were able to bid on things such as a night out bowling, a day at the theatre, or a day at Adventureland with their favorite teacher, custodian or principal. Throughout the night we were entertained by the parent bands The High Bidders and The Winning Bid Band. Together as a community we were able to raise approximately $16,000 to support Montessori education at Cowles.
