The pre-primary classes at Cowles Montessori have been busy working during the month of November-

We started the month by preparing (washing, peeling and cutting) vegetables for a Healthy Harvest soup.  The potatoes and kale were dug and picked from our own garden.  Table scrubbing, dishwashing, silver polishing, setting the table and inviting a friend to “tea” have all been activities in conjunction with getting ready for Thanksgiving.  Also, we have been studying turkeys: parts of a turkey, easel painting turkey feathers, counting turkeys and turkey puzzles.  All classes have been learning about the First Thanksgiving through songs, stories and story retelling.
