Students attend Blank Summer Institute
Between June 21 and June 26, 2015, six students from Cowles Montessori attended the Blank Summer Institute. One hundred and twenty seventh and eighth grade students are selected from around the state to work in one of eight advanced courses at the University of Iowa. The students from Cowles participated in Global and Cultural Studies, Social Sciences, Advanced Science, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Invention and Innovation. While attending this program, students lived in the dorms, ate in the university dining halls, and participated in activities and fieldtrips in and around Iowa City. This program offered a great chance to meet other people from around the state and allowed participants to work with peers in similar fields of interest.
