Cowles Montessori Parent Group (CMPG)

CMPG is our Parent Teacher Association (PTA). CMPG is a non-profit organization with the main purpose of supporting teachers, students, and staff through fundraising and volunteering. CMPG raise funds to purchase classroom materials specific to Montessori education, additional training for our teachers, beautification of our grounds and fun family activities. Every parent of a Cowles Montessori student is already a member. No dues are required, and it is a great way to learn about issues important for high-quality Montessori education in the Des Moines Public Schools.

Ways to participate:

·       Attend CMPG meetings for feedback on funding requests, information about school events and to hear from our leadership team

·       Support CMPG sponsored events through monetary donations or micro volunteer opportunities

·       Volunteer at the Des Moines Arts Festival to help raise funds for CMPG each year

·       Sign up to be a Classroom Parent

·       Volunteer to serve on the Executive Board. Calls open up in March for anyone looking to volunteer as a leader of CMPG

The best way to keep in touch with what CMPG is up to and connect with other Cowles parents is on social media! All events will be posted on our Facebook group and we have started an Instagram to provide as many updates as possible.
